Announcing Accelerated Adults Chinese Conversation Class in Fall 2010!!
Purpose of this class:
As China has been playing a more and more important role in the word affairs, there is an increasing demand for American people to learn Chinese conversation skills in a short of period time. Yufang's CLC is going to open an accelerated adults Chinese conversation class in Fall 2010 to meet this demand. Yufang's CLC has enriched teacher resources and successful experiences in pursuing this mission. The principal, Mrs. Yufang Wang, herself has had many years' Chinese conversation teaching experiences, including in Portland Community College, and has ever since established excellent reputation among her students. The "New Chinese 300" had been first adopted by Mrs. Wang to be used as a textbook, and now become a major selected textbook in Metro Portland Area.
Class information:
The Express Level I class is aimed to train the students to master the daily Chinese conversation language (Mandarin) within one semester, combining with the education of basic Chinese culture and history or business and economy information or technical terms. The class requires minimum once a week (twice a week recommended), two classes back-to-back every time, each class will last 45 mins. Classes can be held at late afternoon or evenings of weekdays or weekends. Class locations could be selected at one of or multiple locations of Beaverton (Bethany area), SE Portland or West Linn, based on the students' convenience. The tuition will depend on the number of participants in the class. In a minimum of 5-student class, the tuition will be $7 per class, material fee $10 per term. One time registration fee: $20. The Level II above classes will teach students enhancing their conversation skills by practicing Chinese characters reading. The class time and tuition will be same as Level I.

Yufang's Chinese Learning Center is going to open a summer camp this summer aimed to enhance our children's exposure to Chinese language and culture through a variety of fun activities in a short period of summer vacation time. The summer camp this year will last 10 days (weekend excluded).

St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 5415 SE Powell Blvd. OR 97206
Session:
9:00am - 4:30pm (2 classes in the morning, 1 class in the afternoon, which will include Chinese language, singing and dancing, drawing and calligraphy. Activities will include cutting and pasting, folding and coloring, handcrafting, reading and listening stories, watching cartoons or movies, making Chinese food, field trips, etc...)
Ages:
Group One: 2 to 4 years old
Group Two: 5 and above
Schedule:
From July 6th to July 16th
Tuition:
Entire Summer Camp:
$350 (for Group One) and $330 (for Group Two) for all day session.
$270 (for Group One) and $250 (for Groupd Two) for half day (less then 4 hours) session.
All Day Daily rate: $40 per child.
Half Day Daily rate: $30 per child.
10% discount for second child and every child thereafter.
Non-refundable registration fee of $100, which will be deducted from your tuition.
The balance is due by the first day of Summer Camp.

Summer and Fall Classes
Yufang's Chinese Learning Center is open for Summer and Fall Term Enrollment for all-level children and adults Chinese classes. YFCLC offers beginning Chinese Singing/Dancing Class for 2-5 yrs old , 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade Language Classes for 6 yrs old and above, and beginning and advanced classes for adults. The Summer Term will start from 7/9/2010 and end on 7/31/2010. The Fall Term will start from 9/10 to 12/18/10.

Mobile Library
The mobile library has been established for students who wish to enhance their out of class reading. This library will be open prior to and after classes. The books will cover a variety of levels of students. This move will help students become more interested in reading and advancing in chinese. Please see the library open notice and rules listed below:
For the purpose of helping students learn the Chinese language beyond the classroom, the Center has established a mobile library. To qualify to borrow books from the library, one MUST participate to be a member, which will be charged for a membership fee of $10 per year. Once becoming a member, a library card will be issued and valid for one year. Below are the tentative rules and schedules on how to borrow books.
For the purpose of helping students learn the Chinese language beyond the classroom, the Center has established a mobile library. To qualify to borrow books from the library, one MUST participate to be a member, which will be charged for a membership fee of $10 per year. Once becoming a member, a library card will be issued and valid for one year. Below are the tentative rules and schedules on how to borrow books.
- Members should bring the library card with him/her in order to borrow the books.
- Since our library owns a relative small amount of books at this point, every member will be limited two books at a time, which will be due in two weeks and only be allowed to renew once for another two weeks.
- Book should be returned or renewed on time. Renew can be done by phone or email. A fine of $1 will be charged for each book every week past due.
- Book should be kept clean and should have no damages during the check-out period. Should the book get any kind of serious damage or is lost, a compensation fee will be charged to the member based on the market price of the book plus 50% fine of the book price.
- Books must return back prior to end of each term.
- Books will be checked at each classroom on each location.
